meet our directors
Our directors bring a wealth of knowledge to guiding our company. Anton van Dyk and Gary Hughes are both Registered Psychologists who between them bring over 38 years of clinical experience of working within the field of psychology in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
They have both provided academic input to various university courses in New Zealand and the United Kingdom to under-graduates and post-graduates on a diverse range of topics.
Anton and Gary have gained experience of working with a diverse range of people and cultures to develop their knowledge and confidence in understanding and using psychologically derived skills in their professional lives.
Their wide ranging experience has allowed them to understand the importance of developing a firm appreciation of clients’ needs. Then, through collaborative development of bespoke packages they have consistently sought to meet clients’ specific needs and goals. To ensure that the packages and services provided by Futures are always of the highest standard and incorporate the latest developments in the world of psychology, Anton, Gary and their team all engage in regular professional supervision and peer review activities.

The Futures’ team are currently involved in providing a broad range of psychological services within a number of different environments and sectors including Ministry of Social Development, Oranga Tamariki Ministry for Children (Care & Protection and Youth Justice), NZ Defence Force, educational, charity and private sector businesses. The team pride themselves in being able to translate the very latest psychological research and practices in to programmes and bespoke packages of support tailored to the needs of our clients.
Futures’ goals are simple. We aim to provide Aotearoa with easy access to a highly skilled and professional team dedicated to working collaboratively with individuals and organisations alike to successfully meet their needs.
